This is a beautiful poem, it uses nature in the background in much the same way a painter would.. but the real star to me is the leaves and how they, like us.. fall into their destiny.. whatever it may be.. Sometimes it seems autumn doesn't wait till the end of the year.
Quite enjoyed, congratulations on the spotlight

I love this! This is a metaphor I have thought of, but have never been able to put in the right words, but you have done it masterfully! Congratulations on the Spotlight!

Re: My leaves of Autumn
What a refreshing take on Autumn. I've never though of falling leaves being a happy and momentous time... I guess it's probably the only time the leaf will really move at all and it lasts but a split second. From branch to ground is impressively drawn out... making you wish it would last longer.
Long live autumn!
A fabulous piece of poetry my friend... one of the more original takes of fall that I have seen before.

A delight to read from beginning to end; very deep and philosophical - and yet at the same time the words were light as a feather - or as soft and gentle as the falling leaves of Autumn! Well done trell11, a most worthy piece for the Spotlight!

Excellent poetry. I second the above review by evrhopeful.Bravoeverhopeful wrote:A very skillfully crafted extended metaphor between leaves and human life, this is done with subtlety and a committment to the metaphor until the end which makes many people read it in a very direct, straightforward way, yet upon consideration the parallels with human existence are all apparent. The final stanza, the 're-birth', shows how we can leave our mark on the world long beyond our mortality.
Congratulations on the spotlight.
