Of Birds And Shoes

I once had a pair of shoes,
that were made of rice.
They were very nice,
But the magpies,
kept eating them.

When they were done,
they got fat,
and couldn't fly.
So, I ate the magpies.

Despite their name,
they don't make good pies.
