Remembrance Evermore

Post by Nancyp447 » April 26th, 2012, 3:21 am

You harnessed for me the transient winds
Caressing the supple branches of summer
Imbued my days with sunshine
And my nights with celestial wonder

You planted in my garden an array of flowers
Rivaling the beauty of autumn’s leaves
And captured for me the amusing melodies
Riding delightedly upon the untamed breeze

You set before my gaze the sparkling starlight
That dances gleefully along the rivers winding course
And filled my palette with the living silver
That pierces the canvas of the universe

How could I have minded their splendor
Or found meaning in these gifts from above
If you had not tenderly embraced me
And livened me with your love

Now as the song of the robin draws nearer
And petals drink again of morning dew
As springs eventide acquiesces to summer
I will have remembrance of you

And as the impassioned swells of the ocean
Rush to engage the fickle shore
And laden clouds bend to kiss patient mountains
I will have remembrance of you . . . Evermore

If we have learned one thing in life
May it be that kind love is good
May we not remember the strife
May forgiveness be understood.

I loved you then, I love you still though we are shadows of our former glory
Though they try to kill us off, we are a never-ending story

Hi Nancy. I LOVE you diction, your word selection is spot-on. However, with good diction comes the need to then make the poem flow, and this has that in spades. I was captured by the natural aspect to it, perfectly enhancing the romantic viewpoint of the piece. Wonderful heart poem.

Hi Nancyp ... the flow is great and your imagery is cleverly powerful. Together, they make this piece as smooth as silk and simply, very fine poetry.

Congratulations for The Spotlight!

Thank you all so much for your kind congratulation's and comments on this piece. It is an especially dear one to me as I wrote it for my parents. They had adopted me from a very bad situation when I was five. (A nun had been assigned to check out a case of child endangerment at my old home. She caught the one taking care of me off guard. She walked into my room and found me tied down to a bed and drugged. I was being taken out of the house the next morning by child services.) So anyway, the two who I came to know as my true parents, parents of my heart Evelyn and Emanuel, were spot on exactly what this soul needed. Because of their near divine love for me, I have been greatly healed in my life. And I know what a beautiful blessing that is. I'm facing other challenges now. One's that never occurred to me before.

Anyway, blah, blah, blah. That's enough for now. Stay tuned, you never know where the story leads. chuckle

Love to all,

Nancy.

Adored the easy flows and undulations from one stanza to the next. It felt like winding through a maypole dance. I loved the way you compounded the effect of the subject on your experiences in the fourth stanza and then sealed the work up twice in the last two. Extraordinary writing...Dew
