The poem this reminded me of is: Asparagus By Marilyn Nelson. It was featured in The Best American Poetry 2003 via the Rattapallax journal. I'd post it here, but I'm sure I'd be tagged and swatted for such an offense.

Nevertheless, it's worth the read, and the image above is a testament to it.

I am not as knowlegeableon asparagus as PH, but I can say it's a great shot and meloves my asparagus! Try it marinading in a balsamic vinegar and then grilling it outside on the grill! Total yummerkins!

I too wov those little spearie tings particularly if fried in butter and garlic or extra virgin olive oil why they're almost as good as Brussel sprouts IMHO

Never tried it but Man that picture makes it look tasty. Wonderfully composed piece and most deserving of a spotlight
