Summer Kisses

Post by AM616 » April 10th, 2013, 11:41 pm

Summer,
Days get longer,
Nights get shorter.
The wind whispers through the tree branches.
It's like a constant melody that the birds join into.
The sun warms me,
Leaving its kisses in the form of freckles.
Wind tosses my hair around,
Tickling my cheeks with its soft caress.
All the sounds of nature mixed with the laughter of children,
Makes music so unique it can't be copied.
It brings my soul to life with joy,
And that will always be mine.

"MUSIC speaks what cannot be expressed
soothes the mind and gives it rest
heals the heart and makes it whole
flows from heaven to the soul."

A sweet little poem to start the day with. You named the reasons why I long for the summer (it's still 10° here, sigh)..
Much enjoyed! :)

A real feel-good poem. It was neat to think of something so imposing as the sun giving one kisses. I guess a sunburn would be like the Sun is biting you then, eh? Not much to improve here that I can think of.Good job.

"kisses in the form of freckles" that was charmingly sweet. but the summer here was so hot, muggy, and buggy that we stayed indoors for most of it this year...yuck. so glad fall arrives! Beautiful poem! Makes me hope for a less sticky itchy summer next year! - dew

I like summer too and you've expressed my own feelings so well. The way you tell of the wind against your cheek, the sun causing freckles. All are so vivid. Thank you for giving me a pleasant read.

You painted a very beautiful picture of summer.

beautiful and eloquent as fall and thanksgiving are coming upon us. I love summer because it will always bring back warm memories for me, so this time of season each year brings me back to my childhood and summer vacations. Your poem hit the spot on some of these enriching thoughts that fill my fleeting mind up with. So thank you for sharing. Enjoyed...

Summer with children is special. As a parent, I appreciate being brought back to the fond memories of the times, or really, the frame of mind associated with those feelings of well-being, wholeness, and at peace with oneself and the world.

Wonderful poem!
