Sometimes it is better
Not to know the ending.
To stop reading the
Story that you know is
Tragedy.
Sometimes those words
Cannot spell out
A Happy ever after;
The ink is set -
It won't erase -
All you can do is
Stop turning the page.

Now close the book,
and just pretend that,
Somehow, things did mend.
In blind naivety you write
Your own end to the tale,
No blood tears will pour
From your pen - or heart,
As the dream you had
Dies in truth's flames.

* I know I haven't been posting much at all recently; i started Uni in September and it has been so hectic! I'm also trying to get back to writing after pretty much stopping entirely over the last year, due to personal circumstances - it's like going back to a blank canvas, quite scary!

Hi doll! Always a pleasure to read your work! I can relate to this one on so many levels, you've done a beautiful job conveying the pain, the fright we feel not knowing what waits for us on the next page. Could it possibly be worse than what we have already flipped through in our lives? Do we sit there wishing for the happy ending? Do we gamble and flip to the ending? So much is packed into this on Sophs, I'll bookmark and enjoy and think about this one for a very long time. Truly your words fit my life. I totally understand the emotional connection. A superb OM! Have fun at university and stop in whenever you can, it truly is a treat for me to read your work!

Welcome back Soph. This is something I struggle with. I get into a book and they kill one of my favorite characters or the end is a total letdown. Still I have to read it cause I have to know what happened.
