our hearts have known
worse than this.
Though time is not our friend
let us love now
before it is to late.
Before winter arrives
and does us down.
Before reality intrudes
and mocks our illusions.
Before our eyes
begin to wander.
Before we grow old
and start to long for oblivion.
Don't give up my love

Re: Don't give up my love
Man's love / God's love - we need both it seems, and perhaps it is proportional to the "love we give" (Beatles maybe?)
Always a pleasure MW and we are def in a blue funk around these here parts. Cheers my friend! - Dan
Your first piece reminded me of "To His Coy Mistress" by some dead poet. Cheers again!

Yeah, you have to seize the moment. Wait too long for things to be right and perfect, and love may be gone..

I like the maturity in the voice of the speaker in this poem. They have seen enough
of life to know about winter and the eventual collapse of the physical self, and
invite the soulmate to dance anyway.
Really beautiful.
