A prayer of Intercession.... Rondeau Redouble'

Post by wsparks » November 10th, 2016, 6:29 pm

Prayers of Intercession….
A Rondeau Redouble'

Prayers of Intercession for all this day
For those now in authority, lead us in peace
“Enlighten their eyes”, help them know your way
Together, opportunities ne’er cease

We lift our voices that our nation be healed
“In God We Trust”, the currency does say
“A house divided”, its fate surely sealed
I offer prayers of Intercession for all this day

Let all in this great land feel free
Let our appreciation for “the Brave” increase
“A shinning City on the Hill” for all to see
Help those now in authority lead us in peace

May the shouting be over, let the work begin
Keep us focused on each other, come what may
Let honor guide our leaders time and again
Lord, enlighten their eyes, and know your way

Purple Mountain’s majesty, amber waves of grain
Empathy for the oppressed, respect for the police
Heal the division that causes so much pain
Together, opportunities never cease

Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, molders of this land
One blessed nation, under God was created
May we find protection in the palm of his hand
Oh Lord, for a reunion long awaited
I offer prayers of Intercession.

A worthy message Walter that seems dated perhaps nowadays, as we become too smart for our own goodness; and the history is re-written by those that hold a pyrrhic victory in blistered hands. We will not pass this way again.
I must try this form myself someday...Cheers my friend! - Dan

An interesting form and a heartfelt prayer. There's something about the formality of the form that lends a power and grace to the words - I found it to be an interesting read.

An incredibly enlightening poem in a form I greatly admire..It reminds us how divisiveness and lack of harmony only cause more misery. The last stanza brings everything together smoothly in good faith..Admirable theme..Tangie..

The rhyming and repetition, the use of favorite Bible lines were all appreciated. It is a wonderful comfort to realize there are folks who take time to pray for others.I like the form, but it is a lot of work.
