NPM Spotlight 4/11/18 The Phoenix Within

Post by CarolynKleefeld » February 2nd, 2018, 9:48 pm

The Phoenix Within
(for DC)

The daisies are
unusually fresh and bright,
flourishing from the mulch
of the dead tree that fell nearby.

With the departure of my beloved,
may I be so fortunate
as to rise like a phoenix
from the fecund ashes within
and soar with the innocence and wonder
that thrive from our consummate love.

In this afterlife I now am living,
the word death
reveals itself as a misconception.

After all, you are eternal
and that is our realm,
our nest of nourishment.

And with our essences so merged,
we ever offer ourselves
to the grace of the divine.

The bad leaves that stain our memories, and leave deep lasting impressions, can become the top dressing we need for rebirth.
Very much enjoyed!!!

Everything is exactly as it should be. Why do we have such a hard time accepting it?

I loved the idea of the phoenix, but I loved how you explore the metaphor in different ways, the daisies growing bright from the the dead tree mulch. Yes there are bad memories but from these we can grow and become something new. Well written and thanks for sharing
