Desserts Personified
Post
by Ona Sabela » May 29th, 2018, 10:44 pm
Vanilla gaze into a chocolate stare,
red velvet caress and caramel embrace.
Cinnamon steps to a cherry waltz,
citrus flair with an almond pirouette.
Decadence parades on the parquet floor,
spun sugar gowns and frosted tuxedos.
The ladies twirl their raspberry chiffon's,
blueberry lace fluttering at the hem.
The men doff their marzipan top hats,
flicking their coattails of ganache;
Thus begins the Confectionery Ball.

Hm, I'm hungry after reading this one! Loved the imagery and incorporation of so many flavors. I almost feel like I'm at a bakery pursuing the wares.

...scccceeerrrch... the music suddenly sputters to a halt as the orchestra cranes their collective neck to look down a side hall from whence is coming a shamelessly ripped off baseline followed shortly by a man dressed gaudily in a pink nylon suit and enormous fluorescent high-tops. he carries on his shoulder a large grey box which seems to be entirely made out of ridiculously spanking speakers and wears around his neck at least half a hundred heavy gold chains that rattle with each of his jaunty strides. he enters the ballroom. everyone is silent. only his music fills the walls. bum bum bum ba da dum bum. behold, he is vanilla ice and in his hand is a large platter of *vanilla ice cream.* and now... wait for it... wait for it... just a little closer... now attack! leave only memories as they will.

well... as they say in the wilds of the great world, where the suns descent marks revelries of a kind unknown to the day's right folk: "alright stop, collaborate and listen, ice is back and the vanilla's what i'm dishin, if dessert being personified then i'm making myself deified, there aint no way ima miss this convention"
i'm just having fun at my own expense. pay me no mind if that is your wish.
forever in your service and always in your debt,
vanilla ice (lots of ice, ice baby, vanilla; chocolate is for yurpeans)

This is wonderful. I didn't know desserts could be so racey!

You clearly deserved the Spotlight with this one. So tasty and colorful! Very creative.

The imagery is great. Poetry is about as close as I should get to those mouth watering desserts.
