I
Unwilled, unseen a wretched birth
What will the spirit of the writ?
How wroth hath the spirit curs'd hearth
Of life unfear'd, of blight and spit
II
The mother call'th, wither'd footstool
Untrue conception cometh forth
Yet brighten'd wit, her life's a fool
The child conceived, unhappy north
III
Alas, the father wise yet ill
Of sorcery and darkly wit
Bore his mother the wreck so still
The witty candle hereby lit
IV
Whereas the child of good young age
Of whom no knowledge is kept from
His mother kill'd, an insane stage
His father of murd'rous chiefdom
V
Even his child he will to spill
His blood and the waiting cauldron
He goeth haste, a wasteful will
He is witness of this action
VI
From thence he walk'd till he besought
A place of good refuge and rest
Many a times ought men and sought
His wisdom better than the rest
VII
How terrible is he among
Not fate nor man will'd him their home
The curs'd abide, eternal song
Better the dead than his cold home.

I'm, for whatever reason, picturing the movie "Damien" while reading this story about someone who just might be the signal for the end of times. Really enjoyed, best wishes.

Great story about the illness of what one becomes through turnmoil in there life. Greatly enjoyed the plane of higher writing you are on, it is nice to see delicate work proven and done correctly. Great write.

I can only admire your commitment to form, meter and diction. The archaic style is a hard one to pull off with seeming like a parody, and this feels fully authentic from beginning to end.
