The kind-of Pirate Life

Post by DanteWilde » May 11th, 2012, 8:27 pm

I have been the captain
Of many shipwrecked vessels
Accompanied by the oddest people I know.
Wandering
But not lost.
Marooned on familiar lands
Full of desperate hopes and melodies
Continuing onwards
towards the horizon;
Homeward bound.

MAY I NEVER BE PERFECT

I breathe. I love. I praise. I laugh. I mourn. I fight. I write. I share. I smile. I continue.

Loved the title of this poem, it grabbed my interest.

This poem has a relaxed feel, your thoughts come across very naturally and there is an undercurrent of humour.

I really like the vein of this piece. I like to think of myself as a pirate sometimes.. Heh heh. YARRR!

A well worded piece of poetry that offers a wise and smooth perspective. Really like this. Short but by no means lacking!

Set adrift but there's always that gravitational pull towards HOME.

Home is where the heart is, like the previous poster, yes its a gravitational pull, but in my mind and heart, it is the spirit of God getting us home. Thank you.

Fun little poem, and I love the way this can be applied to so many contexts. Congrats on the spotlight!
