Reborn From the Fire

Reborn From the Fire
Some days you win, some days you lose.
Baby, I'm on that other side.
Stand in the crowd, face on the news;
Baby, today's just another lie.
Running away, running from you;
Baby, I don't even care to hide
And you tell me we will be alright,
just hang to me another night.
But I can't see that brighter day.
I am tossed up, torn up, thrown away.
And I will keep on climbing higher.
Just take my hand and pull me out of the fire
Sitting alone, hanging my head.
Baby, I'm lost and on my own
I wake up alone, wrong side of the bed,
Baby, why won't you pick up the phone?
The thoughts in my head are nothing but dread.
Baby, what's that meaning in your tone?
Please, tell me you aren't over me,
just hang on, just wait and see.
But I can't see that brighter day.
I am tossed up, torn up, thrown away.
And I will keep on climbing higher.
Just take my hand and pull me out of the fire.
Baby, I'm hanging on by a single thread.
Can't drown out shouting in my head.
I'm lost without you by my side,
just come back to me and I'll be alright!
But I can't see that brighter day.
I am tossed up, torn up, thrown away.
And I will keep on climbing higher.
Just take my hand and pull me out of the fire
Lead me to that brighter day.
Show me we can be okay.
Climb with me ever higher.
We will be reborn from that fire.

This is very nice work,I can see spots that you could really belt out, and softer areas that are sung with emotion. This was one I could feel music and rhythm..Loved it..Tangie..

Wow, this is gorgeous work. It flows so well and I love the title. If I haven't said it yet, Welcome to TPS! I hope to see more of you.

I just love how that lead to a great ending! and even the thought of 'reborn from the fire', is so cool!
That was a very nice song, neat, solid, and well penned!
Thanks for sharing!

Hey,
I have just read your work.
This was one of those works that I term a "wine song".
I call them that because even though the rhythm is so distinctive,
I can't usually feel the melody until I got enough wine in me.
Regardless, I think you've done an exceptional job.
