The wind blows and blows(Empat)

Post by godsplat » June 25th, 2014, 9:52 am

Continuously, the wind blows and blows
As wooden window shutters rap and tap
It whistles through the cracks with highs and lows
When cold outside, it gives your face a slap

Out in the desert sun, it burns like fire
It pushes, it stabs, it drains and it throws
Pulling autumn leafs higher and higher
Inspiring poets to write windy prose

Relentlessly the wind blows and blows
For sail boats, soaring birds and flags, all’s well
In the wind, it’s great to be one of those
For a struggling butterfly, not so swell

From the winters wind, comes a stuffy nose
As it pushes the cold into your face
And drifts the snow until you’re walking slows
The wind blows and blows at quite a pace

You've penned the many ways wind works its way with all of us. I've experienced all the ways you've written about. A swell poem that I relate to so well.

Bravo...I exalt you for this one. It is just brilliant. It has a effortless charm that is as fresh and pleasing as a lakeside zepher...I loved the line "windy prose"...that was gorgeous! - dew

Neatly constructed poem and the different perspectives of those feeling the wind were great.
Bravo!

Not only did you describe the nature of wind being capricious in its direction, you also personified it as different personalities! It was interesting to look at how perspectives change based on who is being affected by the wind and where they are being affected at!

written with an effortlessness to match the very breezes of which you speak. there's honesty, wit, and talent in abundance. well deserving of the spotlight for sure.

I'd never heard of an empat before but this had a really nice relaxing way about it.

You've captured ALL of the wonders of wind here gs. I'm enraptured by this piece.
A well deserved spotlight, poet.
