Of The Land, More Than Dream (IK)

Post by AoR » August 18th, 2014, 3:53 pm

Of The Land, More Than Dream

It dwells deep in the heart of the world,
The soul of the wood, the sea, the earth.
Close your eyes and you will feel,
Wondrous sensation warms with all mirth.
A sacred song, an elegant song of meadow
Serenades your soul into the midnight wile,
Darkness overtakes but do not fear the unknown,
True bliss awaits those unafraid to be wild.
What do you see? What do you feel?
Does the butterfly fairy grace you with a dance,
Lalunaluss only exists to those deemed worthy.
Hear the trees murmur a kindred moan,
Amongst their branches they will deliver you
Unto their garden home.

Breathe in the fresh and fragrant air,
Rosella's garden is one of color and wonder.
Endless petals sway to the wind's words,
The veiled Princess often gets lost in this world.
In the night, watch the skies,
Where stars collide and compose a collage all their own.
The late night dew a peaceful kiss from the tender rain
Blessing the garden with love that never wanes.
If we travel further, the world becomes much colder,
A chilling sigh escapes unto a crystal night.
Snow falls delicate and slowly, blankets of white.
Lifeless spaces span the imagination
But it is quite a beautiful peace of mind.
If you perk your ear, you will hear
The quiet nudges of bunnies hopping here and there.
Hold on to the balustrade, do not lose your step,
We shall continue onward, again.

The trees are talking, full of leaves of green,
Oh glorious Spring has come once more.
Hear the huffs of the old sitting horse,
As the idle chit chat of a dreamer, seeker
Tallies up adventure and voyage,
Along the patient Oaks bark and branch.
Dreams are priceless amongst the young,
Carved for the next ages to come,
Read of the journeys of sparky 21737 and aoeclaid,
Two legendaries among many tongues.
Shifting seasons, many tides
The world continues breathing life.
For now we must let their secrets lie,
Leave the peace of this world behind.

Thank you for humbling this simple
Angel of remorse.
Many come only to berate this Candle Witch,
Accuse of falsity and idle tricks.
But those who have no heart for peace,
My lovely world, they will not see.
I am nothing but a naked poet, delighting you
with things I wrote, secrets of this world untold.
A speaker of poems and bow ties loosely bound,
Revealing to those seeking nature's sound.
A dream does nothing but barrier the truth,
Distances you from touching ripened fruit.
A kiss of our Mother's deep favor,
I bless onto your splendid hue.
Hoping to travel the depths of my kin
You will return someday,
Won't you?

This is such a beautiful piece, I loved the imagery that you crafted with every line and I am also picking up that it is in reference to the seasons? I also liked how you added the names of different TPS members into the poem it made it all the more special and memorable. A really lovely piece of the IK challange. Thanks for sharing

Awesomesauce! I noticed the member names first, and then I started to pick up on elements of the seasons in nature, but I was the most excited when I started to see the boards too among your lines. Not explicitly...but still elements of sadness and love and enlightnement and darkness and fantasy and roots...oh, and nature! Exaltissimo! This was pure joy! Your best in the challenge by far! - dew

I liked that you've included the names of TPS members in your poem, and it's done in such a clever and creative way. I'm surprised by how many you were able to fit in while keeping the poem sounding natural and sensible. I liked the gentle tone of the poem and the gentle images you embedded within it of the surrounding seasons. A well-crafted piece for sure, and I enjoyed it immensely. As Dew said, "Awesomesauce!"

I suppose 'ladylilith' is a bit more difficult to slip into a poem so seamlessly. ;)

It's clever because at first, I didn't notice, it wasn't until I got to Sparky that I was like.. hang on.. OOOH! And then I had to re-read and enjoy this piece from a completely different perspective. The way you wove the piece offers the reader different ways of seeing it, of experiencing it, and that really makes for good poetry in my eyes. The opportunity for a different feeling on further reading, if that makes sense?

And I also really adored the tone and overall vibe here too. It's addictive, it's like listening to the shush of the trees, or the ocean, or something. And I know that sounds a little crazy, but there is something about that that just washes over you as a reader.

Real neat work!!

Lily^^

Ah like I told Dew, the feels are so strong! :3
I appreciate the Spotlight, and am just so happy you guys enjoyed the write!
After all it was for you guys as much as it was for the IK challenge (couldn't have wrote it without you guys either).
I wrote a poem a whiles back around a set of names so this is actually my second. That one was also a Nature piece as well. I guess we all just mesh together... Naturally! I look forward to getting the proper spark of creativity to make another piece. Maybe it's weird on my part, but sometimes seeing your names just hits me with 'hmm, what a cool name, or I've never thought about using that word/phrase'. :) In any case, my thanks and I share this Spotlight with all of you for being my inspiration!

What, no everhopeful in this? *stomps off in a huff* lol just kidding!
I think you did really well to craft something with such a difficult constraint and still make it read normally. But for my time spent on the site it would be easy to miss that you were cramming in so many different usernames. Not only did it take on a nature setting, it did so with the TPS spirit - and I don't just mean the username either, but more that it was so energetic and penned with love and wonder, and a whole lot of creativity too!
Congratulations on the spotlight!

Aor..I read this the other day, and somehow had to reread it again because I was "starstruck".To be able to create a tribute poem and still maintain a beautiful depth with the references to nature was so brilliant. This was simply sheer poetic magic, and an awe inspiring spotlight choice..TY..Tangie..

I could remark about your cleverness, but I was a captive after I read the first two lines, ' It dwells deep in the heart of the world/The soul of the wood, the sea, the earth.'
I did not even catch on with 'dwells'. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on the TPS Spotlight.

I am behind on reading all the IK poems and so I have not yet read all of yours. This is by far my favorite of yours so far and not just because my username is in it. (though that is a bonus that makes me mirthful.) This is just such a clever and creative piece of poetry. Congratulations on the well deserved place in the Spotlight!

Thanks so much for sharing.
