Silence the charming pings of voices, bringing fiendish noises,
Noises with a curious destruction; evil rent in its construction!
Sitting, maybe dreaming, wondering my return,
The seeds that hath parted from reality beyond a garden,
Leave me to wonder and pause, and so I ponder,
And in that moment, shudder more.
Where was this realm of theory building from the bone,
Bone that can be broken or even to throttle necks on?
Was this realm a realm to explore a little more
Or am I sitting upon my stone walk, upon my garden floor,
And left to my guises, where it was that nothing ever shone,
Nothing flesh that reached the salty shore.
It was the Day of Souls, where rain had blackened into splendor,
Gazing from a stone window to the shore and palm to a baleful sky.
I was not alone in this horrific brilliance and it did not show,
But that light that drew me near to a setting light, surely setting,
Brought with it an understanding, deep within a bellow
That this mind did defend my core!
"Who's there and do you know I?", I asked as I ascended.
"Will you bring with you a storm on this day as a sun descends,
A rain, unyielding, present with the threat of Satan's ego?"
The shadow knew not the tongue that hath been spoken,
But returned with a stare outside my stone window, as I know,
Grunting, "To all those souls that I abhor!"
Was I to challenge evil whilst still in my easy graces,
Or was this test, a closure in the Rapture upon the shore?
A war of screams ensued in echoes where, still, my feet were fixed;
And dawn became the night and surely to a dawn again.
It is I who determine my threats of a demon's menace,
And to which was present, evermore!
And I sat rocking, rocking with a regarding and sobered pace,
Wondering and pondering the outcome, chaste as ice!
Bring what may, may it be dream or simple pangs from my ruin
Or with a wrath that stands in black upon my shore!
Whisper to me; set me free on the pristine wind, foreboding,
That swathed and licked the shore before it soared!
The Augury before me

Some memorable lines Stardust:
Bone that can be broken or even to throttle necks on? (sounds marvelously murderous)
Brought with it an understanding, deep within a bellow (raging against the darkness perhaps)
It is I who determine my threats of a demon's menace, (this is probably the central theme here expressed in an epiphany)
Overall lots to enjoy, and decidedly demonic and foreboding, with a touch of Poe perhaps - cheers SD and this was wonderfully dark. Welcome again to TPS! - Dan

I didn't miss the little clues and final homage to the Raven! I thought as I read...there are demons and horrors and nightmares all in our minds...but once in a while reality brings its own to come and celebrate with them. Welcome to TPS if I haven't already! Hope you make a home here! - dew
