franticly feel with the fangs of your fingers
you callously claw out and capture the creatures
that burrow beneath the beatings of your heart,
holding hostage the little love you have left.

holding hostage the little love you have left.

Re: conquering guilt
I agree. A very strong ending. Guilt is a hard feeling to live with. The way you described it makes it sound like a monster, and I think that's a good comparison. It conquers every aspect of your life if it's deep enough. Nicely written with good attention to sound. I liked 'burrow beneath the beatings.' Thank you for sharing!

Re: conquering guilt
Strong alliteration game, bro. That imagery, I agree, is very original - the creatures in the heart holding hostage love. Guilt can obscure love, but hopefully love takes the foreground.
"Black water streams and splatters white stones."

Re: conquering guilt
I liked this one a lot. Really I agree with everything that has already been said. I like the "fangs of your fingers," a very cool image.

I applaud your ability to write a short yet still powerful piece. I loved it. The metaphorical imagery was spot on and lovely. Thanks for sharing.
"MUSIC speaks what cannot be expressed
soothes the mind and gives it rest
heals the heart and makes it whole
flows from heaven to the soul."

heals the heart and makes it whole
flows from heaven to the soul."

Deserved spotlight. Profound description of feelings encountered in life. The alliteration you used so skillfully set a pulse to the read, which highlighted its pace.
