His brothers keeper

All knowing.
All seeing.
Omnipotent
old testament God.
Reeking of absorbine jr. and bandaids,
Hammered bronze feet
propped high
on his naugahyde throne.
Shooting lightning bolts randomly through the house
until they found ground.

Mad Daddy Kung Fu,
insane hillbilly flashbacks.
Dispensing strange justice
instant karma
and a reason to drink.

Charming okie-doke country boy endearment,
family cos play.
Look down,
toe the ground,
twang it when you say.

5 boys stacked by height
polaroid blind
forced smiles
conceal their plight.

"I have something to cry about
thanks for asking".

The puppet boy wears smarty pants
and
through an eight year old's filter;
words
are quicksand
sinking deeper.
Speaking I'm the sower
screaming I'm the reaper.

Teddie hid the whip
being his brothers keeper

Feet of bronze, Absorbine Jr., and Okie-doke all spoke to my novel sense that this was going to be something decidedly different and wonderful. You did not disappoint either with a superb closing that begs a second read. Well-done and cheers ES! (going back for another helping) :thumb:

Dwells thank you for reading my poem. I am really glad you liked it. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement. A tribute to my daddy's parenting style...
thank you
Eddie- (puppet boy)

hello Eddie,

some people shouldn't be allowed to have children, because of the damage they inflict on their psyche. and siblings are no treat either, most of the time. "that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger."

always, Cat

hi Eddie
This one hit me hard!
Useless, worthless parents and guilty adults in general are going to account.
Sometimes really wish I could bring the fire !!!
