Absent Wisdom
how trite,
is the song of the egoist.
of self adorning love,
of the devil's
learned delusion;
to take off your shoes
and put yourself
into another.
to give death credence
is the same old story
a sleight of tongue.
small sacrifices
to absolve
knotted fallacies.
away from the dark
in your eyes.

Small concessions and admissions are used to appease people enough to keep them away from hounding after the larger, deeper, darker crimes and wrongs being done. How trite, indeed, with too many complicit in the dance.
I was of three minds,
Like a tree
In which there are three blackbirds.

A well written portrait TB and we all know the type, or should as we grow older. The Devil's greatest skill is in his disguise. Cheers and welcome to TPS! - Dan

Indeed, there are those who can spout all manner of mantras "do unto others", "walk a mile my shoes", "all you need is love", while behind closed doors they join the whispers of those who would "do unto others before they do unto you". Maneuver-ers,
users, liars, players....all out to take care of number #1. Excellent. Distractions is a great weapon to use while stabbing someone in the back. Thanks
