Soon---Full Bloom

Post by Valentine » January 26th, 2017, 9:47 pm

Soon---Full Bloom

I saw you patiently standing there,
One small sprig of green in your hair.
All else was blowing, completely free,
Blacks, greys and browns, profusely.

Yet you stand waiting, a small wisp of green;
Watching the sun's rise, among other things.
Longing for a deep flowing green in your hair;
Knowing only spring...can put it there.

So...hang on tight, warmer weather will be soon;
And all of the trees and plants will be in full bloom.

"Watch...watch... now willow, Let down your hair."

Valentine

Spring comes after winter and you espress that thought well in your poem. It's truly great to have the person you care for waiting to welcome you for a walk. The sprig of green in her hair is a nice poetic touch. Well done.

Wonderful, wonderful metaphor! Layers and layers of meaning. A true joy to read, and reread, and take something new from it each time.

I sensed the dual meaning this poem can have too. I really liked it. I enjoy poems that can say something without stating it in an obvious way and you've managed to do just that. Good job.
