I don't want to dream anymore,
I don't want to pray
to gods of dust anymore.

It's dawn in the desert,
night is vanishing
on the horizon.

Fleeting whispers,
vultures and mirages,
a door in the sky,
the key is in me.

I don't want to hope anymore,
I don't want to wait
for roses to bloom anymore.

With the voice of dew
morning speaks to me
of all things.

How blue is the water,
how sweet is the wind,
far from here.
To breathe is not enough
to avoid living barely,
far from here.

Among the dunes
a path draws itself,
mist lifts its curtain,
truth is here.

Unveiled mystery,
revealed pathway,
a door in the sky
is waiting for me.

Hello Liquid Bear

The message I hear when reading this poem, is one of exhaustion and perhaps depression. As if the protagonist is completely and utterly without hope, the joy of life having evaporated some time ago and they now count every moment until their death, when they can finally go through that "Door In The Sky".

Am I close, even a bit?

I enjoyed the easy and constant rhythm of this piece. It has an unrippled flow and pulled me right in. Excellent job

thank you for stopping by. Depression is certainly a factor in this poem, a very important one from which the "action" sparks. Reading it again, it feels uncharacteristically positive by my standards. The basic message is this: I don't want to live in depression and loneliness anymore. The Narrator feels as though something is changing for the better, and he wants to reach that "door in the sky", i.e. happiness. I'm not sure my explanation made much sense, though, let me know.

I was not aware of that song, I just googled the lyrics. I'll listen to it later.

I can relate to this. Thanks for sharing. No matter how many doors opened
there seem much more to come yet I've got a feeling, going back and forth,
everything will be working out fine with no proof but stronger conviction.

Hello Mr. Bear! This is breathtakingly beautiful dude. Good job, and wow! I love the poetically analytical questions comprising the form of the poem and what it coveys. Existential verse in a longing of the beauty, which we all know is out there, when we are on the side of the fence with no green grass. Always a pleasure.

I am still surprised that particular song popped into my head while reading your poem, don't really care for it, it's just one of those songs that show up at odd times

Great concept Bear and sounding like an almost anyplace but here; but here we are and bound to stay that way perhaps.
"The Dark Tower" Trilogy was something I enjoyed immensely two decades ago. It featured a door between worlds and lobstrosities on the beach; but I digress per usual.
