The Reaper and The River

Post by Id With Tao » September 28th, 2017, 8:13 am

~~-~~ The Reaper and The River ~~-~~

The Reaper came to me
not in a dream
but a flowing river
rushing from above
while I sank below
Death cast his shadow
was all one could see
but not for me
those waters
on which the sun
reflected almighty
piercing the shadow
to cast themselves
as the Reaper had
over the restless river
as fragmented slivers
dancing around me
yet still Death's shroud
trying to embrace me
yet still I sank
the waters, careless
still I, careless
accepting, prepared
Memento Mori
Was I to drown and die?
Was I to live?
Ready for the answer
yet still the lights danced
gently, never breaking
yet I cared not
the river cared not
the Reaper cared not
yet I saw the slivers of light
and how they burned brighter
I witnessed those lights
and how much they cared
playing graceful
upon the surface
never breaking
as I was breaking
never absorbed
as I was being absorbed
realization, revelation
it was life that danced
upon that river
waiting for my hand
to grasp a sliver
to raise my hand above
though my head was under
where that sliver could shine
where that sliver could blaze
like the sun that made it
I arose
like the sun
I arose
and the fear
it simply washed away
yet that sliver of light
it did not fade away
I hold it still

Better to discover us as an emitter, than to find out we were stuck inside of a quitter. When Christians truly accept Christ into their Hearts, they will forever have the Light on.
Welcome to TPS!
Very much enjoyed the glinting slivers,
David
