A lonely night
I sit alone and watch the stars
I wonder always where you are
You're always somewhere out of sight

I simply miss
The way you used to hold me tight
The kiss that told me it's alright
That I stopped worrying long ago

We used to fly
Your wings would carry us so high
Roses would ask us why so soon ?
As trees would wave to us goodbye

We're on our journey to the moon
Neath the crystal light we'd dance
And cleanse our sins in sweet romance
No gravity here to way us down

You twist your body with a gentle swirl
Spreading the stars within your gown
Your golden hair would softly curl
Within it's waves I yearn to drown

And then you're off, but why so soon?
I know you crave to reach the moon
But I'll be waiting every night
I know you're somewhere out of sight

Narrator seeks comfort in a romantic drama. He and the lady of his dreams journey together to the moon. He's waiting for her every night when he sits alone and watches the stars. It is a waiting time for a special someone that we seem to know in our hearts who will meet us on our life's journey. At any rate, that is how I read it.

There is always something so romantic about the moon and the stars so I like it when they are used creatively in a romance piece. There is a yearning in this piece that makes it both sweet and hopeful and a touch sad as well. It is the waiting that is hard, the waiting and the wondering but the speaker hasn't lost hope yet. Well written and thanks for sharing

When we are in love, we usually miss our beloved even if we see them everyday. The moon has always been a presence of serenity and tranquility where we can actually yearn for our devotion :)
