Fire lily with passion you burn;
It is my turn
To breathe in the scent of yours,
When firefall of love for evermore falls —
To the abyss of wondrous, but also frightening dreams:
Oh, how sad it is when in half light a fire lily faintly gleams . . .
The one who sees the fire in a flower,
He is quixotic, or the greatest lover:
Don Juan, Marquis de Sade, or Romeo with a good heart:
Ah, strong is the poison of love: — the essence of beautiful art.

Re: Fire Lily
Very well written poem, Versus. I don't think we ever had fire lillies in a poem. I honestly think you can write a poetry book now. Your other poems are also all quality art and you have a deep heart wish for the true honest poet's life.

I must agree with freepreacher. It's difficult for me to put this into words, but your poems feel... very poetic. That's not to say they feel contrived or overly emotive, nothing of the sort. They possess an uncommon quality, that of sounding like the work of a master from some other time. I hope that made sense. Either way, I liked it.

Re: Fire Lily
Thanks a lot freepreacher and Liquid Bear for your FINE comments!
As per being poetic, that is my sin, that is to say, those are waves of love. Is there anything wrong with that? THAT is the question, since: we are not our poems! Houston, we have a problem. We have a fugazy over here, a fine poet that is not poetic at all in ordinary life, as per paraphrasing Oscar Wilde. As per Your comments, They will carry my lowly self for quite some time, propelling me to the stars, on one of which burns with eternal love - - - my true love.

This poem has a very lyrical quality to me. The first line sizzles, halting for a moment, before cascading through the veins of its words as they issue forth from the heart of its soul.

In the beginning was the Word. In the beginning of this poem was the fiery lily. Thanks a lot for stopping by.

Re: Fire Lily
Some aspect of this poem really burned into me. Very descriptive, but also emotive. Truly enjoyed.

Re: Fire Lily
Glad I was able to reach your heart. Or is this phrase used for courtship only? Regardless, thanks both for your kind, but also passionate replies.

Re: Fire Lily
like the Quixotic dismissal of morality as befits the relation between Marquis de Sade and Romeo and the exposition of true artistic passion etc
