Change of Season

Post by jaievieenrose » September 13th, 2016, 1:27 am

Somewhere the summertime is smiling
while leaves are drifting to rest
It's the feathering of fall
to which the seasons glance in jest.

The clover fields are dancing
as night embitters with frost
Crickets singing out of time
The glow of day is lost.

The moon arose to assuage the night
as daylight scurried away.
The sun, laughing as he hid past the hillside
to set beyond the bay.

The penultimate line needs a touch up to avoid tripping the reader as it's read, I believe Jaie; but it might be just me too. An overall enchanting outtake on a phenomenon that never grows old, though we do, sadly. Well done and cheers! - Dan

Nature does what it does without a thought and all we can do is think about it.
Great wordplay hear well done
